I was thinking about getting the Blue Chip APB box and their
pump cover. Do you have to do anything to the pump wire or is the only connection
to the pump with the set screw that is on the pump cover. I don't wat to touch
any of the VP44 pump wires if at all possible.

 

I spoke with Chip a couple times last week and it is my understanding that the cover does the piercing of the wire. You can read the cover install directions on his website to confirm for yourself.

 

The pointed screw in the cover is placed at a precise point that allows it to contact the circuit board and allow electrical connection of your "Box" without stripping external wiring.
EASY install.

 

I got pics of the stock and BD cover(same thing) side by side and pic of the cover installed and removed if that helps.
