Black Chrome Wheels! Anyone?

Has anyone tried painting their stock chrome wheels black. i was thinkin if you scuffed them up a bit and shot them with some black paint they may not look so bad. i just cant stand the look of the chrome wheels and funds are currently low.

The scuffing should work...Or better yet is glassbead them then spray them with a etching primar before paint..

from what i can see the chrome plating is not a part of the wheel and can be taken off? i could be wrong but if you have a wheel off it seems to be a seperate piece that was chromed and put in im working on black wheels as well.

I have seen chrome come off with EZ- OFF oven cleaner. Depends on how good of a job it was.

Media blasting WILL work, in a hurry too.

i am a painter and the best thing to do is use a green primar. it hold to the chrome the best. and then paint over the primer after you said it.

which truck are we talking about? if it's the 99, they're true chrome, but I thought 99's had alloys?

if it's the '04, it's an overlay... unless they're alloys
