Bilstein Shocks

I need new shocks for the truck. It has 50k on it. I had bilsteins on my S-10 ZR2 & they worked great. Now, I know I can't compare the S-10 to my CTD, but I thought that if the shocks that good on that truck, maybe I'd like them on my '99 Dodge. What's your guys thoughts? Thanks

5100's here. I heard(and they are) a bit stiffer than stock, but they are supposed to last. Mine only have 40+ thousand and I am happy.

I was looking on the bilstein website and they say the 5100's are for lifted trucks? They have a different part # for stock trucks. Anyone know the difference in the shock?

That is front and rear heavy duty (2500, 3500) 4X4s.

Which ever they are dont get the ones they use on toyota prerunners. Im kinda baffled at all the hype on em. since new (2000) I can rock the truck by hand enough to get the wheels off the ground on either side. Not much as far as shocks go I thought. gimme some kyb gas adjusts.

Would the attached resovoir (sp?) on the 5150s fit in our coil spring? I have heard good things about these shocks and Planned on running them but I am not sure if they will fit on the front insde the coil springs. THanks

so apparently they are worth it? I'm pretty disappointed in my Rancho's and the so-called adjustable air system... spent a small fortune on them... Anyone know the best place/price for the bilsteins? I can drive over to this place called eshock.com (also egauges.com where I got my gauges) where a set of 4 is $259.80 - any place lower? I'm interested!

Tony,
Interesting. I just ordered a set of Rancho RS9000X's for mine. I intend on putting a slide-in camper on the back. And the overwhelming majority of folks there recommend the Ranchos over the Bilsteins. For the record, I am a Bilstein guy - have them on my 76 BMW 2002 and love them.

Sorry man, you should stuck with your instincts and run the Bilsteins...
