Which Bilstein shocks

Ok everyone, after what seems hours of reading, still can't figure out what shock i need for my truck? i guess the ? is, i have a leveling kit, so can i use the HD (blue/yellow) or do i need to go with the 5100 series? Looks like the part # that bilstein is listing is 2549 frnt/1908 rear. is this correct? And i'm guessing thats the HD shock. And then it shows 6681 frnt/ 6647 rear for 2" lift. Isn't the leveling kit 1.5 inches, i believe thats what mine was. So can i use the 5100, or do i need the HD. I tow a 26' boat, and a 30ft 5th wheel in the summer.. couple of tons of hay here and there. Thanks for any info.. My tour in Hell (iraq) is finally over! i'm on my way home as i type this.. should be stateside by mid week!!! Thanks for supporting the troops!!!

The 5100's are the better shocks. The part #'s for your app with a 1-2" front and 0-1" rear lift are BE5-6681-H6 (fronts) and BE5-6682-H5 (rears).

Most "stock" shocks can be ran with a leveling kit. The Bilsteins you cannot. Many people have reported trying to run them with taller springs and complained of a harsh ride that's attributed to no more travel in the shock.
2549 frnt/1908 rear
That's sorta right. It's 2549 FRT, 2550 REAR.

I can't verify the HD part numbers, but I will say that with spacers and/or springs you'll need the HD shocks for the front for sure.

How do you figure that? The 6681 5100's are built for use with a 2" spacer... I have run them with no problems as well.

Sorry, I was referring to whatever the silver shocks are. The Blue/Yellow (2549 and 2550) are the ones that should not be run with spacers.

I am running the Bilstein 5100's with my 2" taller springs up front. Really like how they feel. Don't know the part numbers. If you need them, I will try and find the receipt.

check the website for specs or call them. I run the largest ones they carry but after just checking it looks like they have even larger ones.

I ordered mine from topguncustomz.com, but their Ebay shocks are usually like 10 bucks cheaper.

You could try them, but a lot of people have claimed the ride was harsh with those particular Bilstein's. I wanted to get 2" lift springs for the front, but I wanted the shocks with a lifetime warranty. The 5100's have a 30 or 90 day warranty, which is not sufficient for me living in the salt belt. Maybe someday I can add my spacers with them if I go south, but for now I'm stuck at the stock height.
