Question is bigger better?

i'm wanting to buy a set of stacks in about a month or two and wanted to get some opinions on the best size+sound=very happy. i was looking at a set of 5" but was thinking about a 7" set. also the best size for turbo back to the stacks. a 4" or 5". planning on getting a phat shaft turbo and some jammer 3 injectors. and yes i have a FASS II, just not installed yet, as well as gauges. thanks

bigger is not better... 7" can start looking a little rediculous... I think 5" is perfect... I've seen a FEW 6" sets that I thought looked good... I'd go 4" to the back of the cab, and 5" from there.

I've used this metaphor before on here... you ever see a little kid tromping around the house in his daddy's cowboy boots and hat? that's what I think of when I see a little pickup w/ 7" stacks... YMMV

i would go w/the 4"to5" to a single 7" that would sit right at the edge of the cab roof.

if your planning on upgrades like more air and fuel than it is worth it.

I personally hate the look of anything bigger than 5" stacks, and going bigger won't actually give you any EGT or power benefits.

Personal preference, I guess.... but to me, anything bigger than 5" looks out of place!

I think 6 is about max when it come to looking "reasonable".
You must consider, at that point you are still 1-2" bigger than most Semi's on the road.

some trucks can pull off 6'ers but most can only do 5's.

Personal opinion and your truck's configuration. Larger stacks look good on certain trucks, just depends on what YOU think. Price might also change your mind, 4" & 5" are very close, 6" are about 50% more, and 7" & 8" are about double.
I'm putting dual 5" on mine, when I finish my flatbed.

the pippin' should always increase in size as it exits, and you would only be runnin' the

7"'s at the end as the stack, it's not the whole exhaust system. plus it would probably

rip as far as sound goes, i have 4"to5" with a side shot and i love the sound, nothin'

like havin' people give ya a dirty look and then you blast them with a cannon shot of

tar!

i'm such a --ck!

thanks for the input. the price of the "stacks" themselves are cheap from back home in SC, but i figure i'll go with 4" turbo back to 5" stacks
thanks again for the input
