big truck trans conversion in a dodge

I have talked to shops all over the country in the last week trying to find out who is running big truck trans in their dodges. No leads. Only "we hear that it is being done", comments. I have done a fair amount of research and it appears that my options are the RTO 8409a, spicer eso66-7b, and the older rto6609,6610 units. I need to update. I am getting tired of rebuilding the 4500. Also, I am not interested in the 5600. It is also to weak for my application. Any comments or contacts greatly appreciated. Thanks

We had a run of Ford F650's with 5.9 and a small Spicer 6spd.....slow shifting.

thanks, I not sure which models came in the fords. I was told to try and find a wreck, freightliner or ford, so I can get all the parts I need in one shot.

One of our ottowa trailer jockey trucks at work has an CR ISB with an allison 3spd behind it, it came that way from the factory, I have talked with some reps from Eaton that say there are 6spd ultrashifts made to fit the ISB, that would be amazing he says if you are gonna do it in a dodge you have to convert your engine protocol to j1939 like big trucks use, sounds like a whole lotta work, now a manual might not be as tuff, but none the less a lotta work

It does not sound like a whole lot of work.(manual) According to Fuller eaton, south bend clutch, junk yards and bunch of others it is easy to do as long as I have the clearance in the chassis. The parts are pretty much off the shelf except for mount fabrication.
