Big Race question

Have a major decision here, was called buy a guy who knows my truck and wants me to race this weekend in a little drag race of trucks. Dura smacks and one suped-up hemi not really any worries about any of them because the dura's aren't much more than stock. BIG concern is we will be racing on dirt and only about 500ft. I don't know if I can even get spooled up enough to let it rip in that short of distance without losing all my traction. Maybe I should just let this one go, and go to the lake fishing. Any thoughts

Let it go. 500ft ain't enough to determine nothing. Take them to 1/4 and show them who's boss.

I say go for it if there is nothing to lose. If you win, great. If you dont, ask them to race again, only on your terms this time.

Do you think I would be better off not to run with the smarty, reason being it seems like it reacts better as you roll into it instead of just mashing the go pedal. Any thoughts?

Ive never tried a comp, but if you can run it on s/w 9 without spinning the tires I would def. run with the Smarty. Especially being its such a short race. Maybe build a small amount of boost to get the turbo rolling?

P.S. if that hemi is pretty hot you might have a real hard time in just 500 feet, they are pretty darn quick of the line. But if the hemi has an open rear diff. you will destroy it.
