I’m not a lawyer, but my understanding is that a manufacturer can only void the warranty on the part, or system, that’s been tampered with. So the short answer is probably yes. If you add a Big Line kit, then Dodge probably has a good case to void the warranty on your lift pump and injection pump (VP44), since you tampered with the fuel delivery system which affects both pumps. However, they can not void the warranty on your transmission or rear axle, because your modifications have nothing to do with either. This is the reason why most guys don’t mess with their trucks until after the warranty expires. Of coarse, if your VP44 goes out now, Dodge will replace it for free.

Thats between you the service manager and possibly the courts. If you were running a stock pump you'd have a better chance of not being hassled. I'm running a relocated stock pump with a kit from vulcanperformance and it keeps my 15 psi guage pegged most the time.

Call your local service manager and see what he thinks

I'm so close to the end of my warranty I just went and did it... I ordered a Vulcan Big Line Kit and a Carter Campaign Pump...

I figure it will void my warranty but... I don't want that junk in-tank pump that Dodge in installing in the fuel tank. Talk about pressure loss!

It will slightly help on pressure, but the amount of fuel flow will be greater. That is what you need.

My service manager and warranty underwriter will honor fuel system warranty work with the vulcan big line kit and the carter fuel pump. They said this to me after my vp44 went tango uniform and I wanted to prevent this with the new one. After I installed the kit, I broght it back so they could have a look and the diesel mechanic said this is what Dodge should have done. 15,000 miles later and 1 lift pump, all is good so far.

So the short story is print of the infomation and bring it to your dealer and talk to them about it. Worse they will say is it will void your warranty.

Joe

BOTH... The big line kit allows for better flow and reduces the pump stress by moving to the rear by the tank. But I would replace any weak pump (10 PSI or less)

Mopar is correct. You need to get the pump relocation kit. The big line kit comes with it. Eric at http://www.vulcanperformance.com
is a great guy to deal with.
There are pics of my install in my gallery.

You can get a pusher pump.
You can still get the bigline kit.
Go to Vulcan performance, talk with Eric.

Or get the Vulcan straw kit and bypass the in-tank and mount in a FASS or Campaign pump...

Or...

Add a pusher pump to it like a campaign pump... Fass might be too much pressure... it this case.

Is it necessary to bypass the in-tank pump? Or would adding a relo. kit or bigline kit be a good way to go?

I wonder if the draw straw would allow people with an in tank pump to run a pusher in parallel instead of setting it up to pull from the intank pump

Call Eric and he'll tell you whats working best
