big injectors?

How big of a injector can you get away with on the street? A friend of mine who fools with pulling tractors showed me a set of fully machined tips he got from his pump builder. The holes are .025 in the tip and I think that is a small as they go. When he pop tested them he said they popped better than any tip he had ever done stock or hot rodded. The complete tip is machined on a cnc machine with no edm or extruded honing done. This is supposed to make a perfect seat and hole alinement. They aren't cheap but not any higher than a set of big edm injectors. Can a person get away with a huge set of injectors and pull some fuel away from it at the pump?

There are plenty of guys running big injectors. Depends on how the injectors were made and who you talk to. What is exceptable to you as far as smoke. Are you ok with offedning everyone that drives behind you. I personaly daily drive with 200+ HP injectors. The smoke a little on take off when its hot and humid other wise they are pretty clean. I've had 125HP injectors that smoked worse than these do. Also on hot days your water temps will run a little warm. You should be good as long as the injectors are clean.

Hey there gwhammy, I know you have a 12 valve but I have been running 150hp sticks for a couple of months and am a little disapointed in the amount of smoke. But if I am correct you have the twins now and that will do alot for the smoke factor. The power is great but the looks from the people the I have just smoked out is killing me.

i dont think anyone understands how big those holes are. willy91made over 800 on 5X16's bigbaddodge made 865 on a set of stage 4 lenny's 5X14's I know george petersons pullin truck's only got 5X16's in it. Hoxever if they can make an injector with those size holes why cant they make a smaller set using the same process.

Yep those would be smokers and wouldn't make any good power, you'd have poor atomization. If you are gonna spend the money, why not get something from someone that's a reputable fuel injection shop and has experience with making power with Dodge Cummins.

I think there will be a set floating around here out of a pulling truck that I might get to run this fall. I saw them popped and it looked like the atomization was pretty good out of them. They probably are to big but it is a neat setup. The guy makes complete billet injector body's too.
