best looking AFFORDABLE front replacement bumper?

was planning on getting a Ranch Hand style bumper for the front of my truck, but all of the ones I'm seeing have a mile of room between the bottom of the grill and headlights and the top of the bumper... this gap is, of course, filled with diamond plate, but it makes the trucks look like they've got a body lift on them.

the third gens look great w/ these bumpers because the grill and lights curve and dip down and the gap isn't nearly as much.

obviously the Road Armor, Reunel, etc. type bumpers look very nice, but I'm not spending $2k+ on a bumper... sorry, ain't gonna happen!

looking at the Tough Country "Apache" series, but I've got a sinking feeling, it's the same type basic arrangement

input?

I know what you mean. I'd love a Road Armor but I'm gonna have to win the lottery first.

hey I am not saying it's the nest looking but it's the best working. http://www.southwestfabricators.com

206D97 - $897 http://www.southwestfabricators.com/...placements.htm
is whats on my truck, the truck has hit 1 deer that I know off about months ago, it was good eating, and the truck has hit one more before i bought it I know because the part of the uper plasic on the hood is cracked a little where the head hit the hood. lol that sounds bad. last deer NO damage what so ever I couldn't stop laughing with I called the highway patrol. and my buddys to get a deer tag to keep the meat, the officer asked if there was any damage to the truck and we all busted up laughing so did he when he saw the bumper. I will have to get a pic up of my truck some time. cole

those look the same as all the other ones I've been looking at...

and if that's what I gotta end up with, I guess that's what I'll get, but if I do, I'm shopping around!

try looking at the thunderstruck bumpers, they have some decent prices

http://www.tstruck.com/ they make the wrap arounds out of square stock that's turned 45* , some people like it some don't, I'm still a little partial to a good old Ranchhand, but may be worth taking a look at???, Dusty

Dusty,

all the bumpers I'm talking about are Ranch Hands or Ranch Hand knock-offs. I don't remember them looking akward on my buddies' trucks back in the day. But anymore, the 2nd gen bumpers look odd...

oh, I'd love to get a Reunel, but I'm looking for something in the $600-900 range, not the $1500-2500 range

I've been shopping for bumpers too. Check this one out- $840 shipped:
Sw fabricators looks nice too, but it looks like it has that same gap.

see, that's more like it... that's what they all used to look like. I don't understand what the deal is

I prefer the bull-nose style, but at this point, I don't care as long as it's got a winch mount and there isn't a mile of diamond plate between the headlights and the top of the pipe!

Have you seen the Buckstop non-winch bumpers? The base is $999.00 and the grille guard for the Baja style like mine is $220.00 I don't think the winch mount style is a whole lot more $1599.00 for the complete unit.

can't argue that it's a sharp lookin' bumper!!!!

but $1600 vs. $700 for a Ranch Hand style bull nose is a pretty considerable difference... that buys the winch!
