Aux. Transmission Cooler
I use my truck for plowing, and I can't find an auxilary tranny cooler. When in 4-hi if I really push it, I can see temps approach 240-245. In 4-lo, I see temps stay consistantly at 180-190. I can't find find a tranny cooler for 1/2 inch line. Anybody know where to get one? BTW, the tranny temp is inthe hot line. At what temp does the fluid start to break down? Thanks

I've used these before with an electric radiator fan from the junkyard. Heavy duty unit-

When conventional petroleum fluid temperatures exceed 200°F they break down causing seals to crack and leaks to occur. Approximately every 20 degree increase in temperature over the normal 175°F will reduce a transmission fluid's life expectancy by 50 percent.
