Attitude vs. Guages

ok i am looking to buy some guages, was planning on just gettin the typical A-pilar guages with a boost, pyro, and fuel. then started thinkin how about an edge juice with attitude since i was planning on gettin a new tuner anyways. what i would like to know is
how does everyone like the attitude? are the readings as accurate as guages?
is the juice with attitude all whats its hyped up to be?
or is normal guages just flat out better?

sry bout the newb questions.

Thanks again to all

your gonna get alot of mixed reviews here but ill say my peice. i love mine. you get a very nice tuner with adjustments out the wazoo, and more "gauge" options than you could ever fit in your truck. its like 9 different parameters you can moniter. obviously not all at once, but there may be times youd like to check on something. rather than going and buying another gauge just push a few buttons. im not sure as far as accuracy, but i couldnt imagine it would be an issue.

i think the main argument for having it "all in one package" is that if you lose your module, you lose all your gauges together. yes, true, but edge has been great about fixing stuff under warranty and whatnot. i cant complain

I agree I have a 01 with an edge juice with attitude and I love it you can set numerous warning buzzers that could save you big buck in the long run such as low fuel pressure alarm. I did have one issue with my egt reading way high at start up I called up edge and they said that the pyro was probably going bad and sent me out a new one and that fixed the problem free of charge. The one thing that I don’t like is that they charge you for the level 6 hot unlock code.

interesting post...and debate. I think the EDGE has a lot to offer and it's a cool setup..I like it as well, however I think the practicality and the ease of use goes toward traditional gauges. I've always liked the analog setups, easy to glance using peripheral vision, plus you can 'clock' the gauges say if you're racing or driving in heavy traffic etc...if you look at most comp vehicles they use analog gauges, almost all instrumentation on industrial equipment to vehicles that have been built sparing minimal expenses still use a traditional style gauge assembly (or have some sort of quantitative visual, such as a bar graph), it works better for the driver and invariably some ideas just fit right and are tried and true over time...just my $0.02

I love my edge juice and monitor. I got them as a package deal for a discount because I did the beta testing with them for the VP44 module before it was released. I also got the 6th Hot level unlocked as a part of doing the testing. Of course I don't use it with my stock tranny.

I really don't like the obstruction of view that pillar gauge's cause, but wanted something conveniently mounted so I made this since I don't have the factory therm./compass. ------>

I really like my attitude because you can display 4 things, but whatever you want. Has a reading for about everything.

am I the only one with an Isspro EV series pyrometer that reads up to 1900*? I was kinda surprised when I opened up my box from VulcanPerformance and saw that.

I thought about the same thing and went with just gauges because I got a edge comp box really cheap. To me you cant beat the look of gauges on the pillar BUT when I race the truck theres no way you can watch every gauge. I think this is where the attitude would be a big plus with the alarms and also doesn't it record your highest boost egt? I just watch my egt gauge, it would be nice to just keep your eyes on the road and listen for the alarm.

why did you switch back to regular guages? any specific reason besides personal preference?

also is it a bad idea to run edge juice with attitude with stock tranny setup and fuel system like would i want to get a walbro kit or fass setup?

can you stack smarty with juice?

is the install of the juice with attitude hard?

thanks again

I ran my comp for awhile on a stock fuel system, you would need to watch your pressures and see. The odds are the juice all the way up is really going to draw down the fuel pressure. Ive heard that the smarty and the attitude dont get along, maybe someone else can chime in on that. I stacked my smarty and comp together and it was fun. I wouldn't say installing the attitude is hard, just time consuming. The hardest thing to me would be tapping the exhaust manifold and thats not bad.

yeah thats what i figured is just watch the pressures and keep a close eye on it. hmmmm smarty and juice/attitude not gettin along i dont know if i like that cause i def wanna stack a smarty with either a comp or a juice. but if the hardest thing is taping the manifold sounds like cake

anyone have any input about stacking smarty with juice/attitude? or experience

I had a bully dog torq dog and it was ok on the bottom end but what a word of difference with the edge after putting on my juice/attitude the power was great I did notice that it would draw down the fuel psi at WOT I assume that it was caused by the juice/attitude but I never had gauges before. The alarm has saved me, my vp44 numerious times.(three fuel pumps later I now have a FASS 150. I do like the look of those analog gauges.
