I'm a little skeptical though because it doesn't really give enough info on how it works.

IMHO, a rather expensive fix for something that can be cleared up by cleaning the battery terminals or adding the DT noise filter.

I thought the alum. foil on the alternator wire was supposed to do the same thing?

Go buy the wire and do it your self, cost you a lot less $$$

SunCoast also has a kit for $48

ATS has the instructions, you just need the abilities and make a trip to home depot.
