Anyone pushing 400rwhp with their 12v CTD?

Just curious...

I was working on my Corvette at a local speed shop when a 04 Duramax came in to get on the dyno.

He had only some electronic mods and pulled almost 400rwhp and pulled around 650rwtq.

He claims he can smoke all 4 tires and can run 14's at the drag strip. Not bad for a 7K+lb truck.

I would like to have 400rwhp but I bet it's a real money intesive project with my 97 automatic.

Cheers,
Ron

Yours truly....

Money intensive? After you setup the auto, 450RWHP is only 1.5K away...

Customer of mine runs 13.18's @ 109MPH with only a 150HP Programmer, and an Edge Juice...

Dyno's in direct, about ~470RWHP.

It sure would. Running ~30x12.5 slicks. 6-speed. Stock EVERYTHING, but 4" straight pipe, and K&N intake.

I kind of thought his (the DM) tq nunbers were low (compaird to the CTD) considering some of the threads I've read on this forum.

So after the tranny upgrade, what mod's (for $1.5k) will give the 97' 12v 180hp motor an increase to 400rwhp?

I'm going to put my truck on the dyno this Monday to get a "B4" baseline. All I have done so far is a 4" dual exhaust.

Thanks for the responces,
Ron H

A #10 torque plate slid forward, an HX40, a scotty 2 intake, and a built tranny.

400?

As you can see the 12V is more than capable. As other have said, the big $ is the Transmission.

Those numbers from the Dmax make me . Nice torque numbers , V-8's just don't have the torque. None the less a good rice, errr I mean race engine.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm real new to diesel upgrades.

What's an HX40?

Thanks,
Ron

The HX-40 is a Holset turbo. Bigger than stock. I'd also throw in 3K GSK and maybe some 370 injectors? You'd have more HP than your vette!
And more torque than 3 modified duramaxes!!!
