anyone know of a good ford site? (for a friend)

a friend of mine has a 97 ford non-intercooled powersmoke. after seeing inprovements in my truck he is wanting to do some upgrades. while towing his trailer over to the coast his egt's were sitting at around 1200 on flat ground and he was struggling to pull his trailer. he's wondering what his next upgrade should be and if anyone sells an intercooler for his truck other than banks. aside from telling him to buy a dodge, anyone have any ideas?

www.thedieselstop.com is probably one of the best for Ford diesels. Another one for Ford trucks in general is www.ford-trucks.com.

So I gotta guess since you have posted here the new Ferd board is not too helpful here???
Gotta agree with Hoss dieselstop is about the best place for the Ferds. If you wanna feel really good about your Cummins engine go there and read the horror of the 6.0.
BTW garbage hauler buddy of mine has 2003 F550 7.3 diesel and is on his 4th tranny since November. 45k on it as of yesterday. Go Ferd Go....

Good grief spots, 4 tranny's. He ought to be pushin for a buy back from Ford. I've seen DC buy em back for a lot less problems than 4 tranny's.

My business partner has a 99.5 F350 4x4, and is also on his 4th transmission. 2 before he bought it (from another friend of mine) and 1 since then. I finally talked him into a trans temp gauge, but I don't know if that will help now. He also has replaced 2 spindles for bad bearings, and has a "creak" in his front end that is just awful. Oh, and let's not forget the famous Ford deathwobble. Sucks to be him!!!!LE

His 2003 has a tranny temp gauge for the PTO. He told me he always knows when its gonna go because the temp spikes. He is running two big coolers on it for the summer. Wait and see I guess....
