Anyone Have A Write Up Or Tips For Installing A FASS Lift Pump

I just ordered my FASS 1008 95/95 with the fuel/air separators.

Does anyone have a write up or any recommendations on installing it?

1. Am I suppose to bypass the fuel filter and the lift pump?
2. Do I have to drop the tank? My LP is on the side of my motor so Im guessing no?
3. Any special tools I need to do this job?

Thanks in advance

Fass install

I have a pump only fass so I don't know about the filter, you do bypass the stock lift pump.2. Do I have to drop the tank? My LP is on the side of my motor so Im guessing no? No you don't have to drop the tank, at least I didn't. I was happy to have a hoist so I could do the work standing up. 3. Any special tools I need to do this job?I found the instructions to remove the fuel tank pickup line far more vague than they should be. I couldn't see which direction to depress the tab or whatever they say. Take a small zipp tie and strap around the tabs...and presto the line comes off easy.
Good luck
Alan

You do bypass the fuel filter & stock lift pump, actually can take that all off of the truck. You need to drop the tank to install a pickup tube, but you can just tap into the metal fuel line near the tank. No special tools needed to do the job, just wrenches, wire cutters, some terminals, shrink wrap, wire ties, knife & a friend who will work for a case of brew. Nothing with a blue ribbon if you want them to come back.

Good advice, as I broke mine trying to undo it. Other than that very easy, even on my back in the cold.

ok everyone i know bypased the old lp, but i do know some people that kept the filter for the water light and the heater, not worth it to me. if you remove the filter make sure you put the bolts back, other then that its really easy

Just follow the instructions to a "t" and it will go well. The most difficult part, was removing the fuel line connection at the pump, I lowered my tank a few inches and it still took more time to remove that connection then the rest of the install.

If I was to do it all over, I would remove the bed. Four bolts and you have easy access to that fitting.

Look in the bed of your truck to see the location and then get underneath and loosen them up. You'll need to undo the fuel filler hose and I believe the tail lights.

After that unobstructed access to the fuel tank!
