anybody tried a jumper on the map sensor harness??
anybody tried a jumper on the map sensor harness??
I know that with some of the Quadzilla boxes on the 3rd gen's they have a trick to put a jumper in between 2 of the map sensore wires to fool the computer into thinking that it's at full boost when it actually has 0 boost, is this something we can do on a 2nd gen, my Ottomind could stand for the fuel to come on sooner, thought this may be one way of doing it??? any ideas??? i don't think the defueling features are affected by boost one way or another. dusty, what you're asking just might work. worth a try i suppose...
no only defuels at 1250*
I think it may work??? I know unhooking the map doesn't work with the Banks box, but this may do it??
wish I knew more about the signals to & from the map, if I knew which 2 to jump I'd go out & give it a try???? who would know where to start??? Dusty

if the banks computer boost fools the stock ECM then no its not affected, but if it doesnt boost fool then when you reach about 27psi the ECM will start defueling. i know, i had to run my injectors with no comp box for while so there was no boost fooling and the truck would run HARD up to 27 psi then just die on its face.

if i could only remember........ i know the orange wire is your 5 volt power. i think the white is the ground and the grey is the return signal....... give my 15 mins and i'll check my truck
true, but if we can make this jumper work like the ones on the CR engines then the boost fooling should stay put, this dang 145hp Ottomind fuels hard up high, but it just waits for too much boost to start fueling, & it absolutely will not smoke!!! the truck smoked more stock than it does now!! LOL outta be great for fuel mileage!! Dusty

on the banks harness the orange is the 5 volt input, the middle wire which is black is ground and the grey is return signal. do you have any ideas how to fool the ottomind with more boost?
now i'm intrested..............

lemme guess, y not just junk the Bank$ crap & buy somethin that'll make it smoke w/out all the trouble???? close???? LOL the 150's should be here sat. & then she outta smoke anyway, but just for the heck of it, I figured y not give it a try for all those who already have the Banks boxes, may make somebody's day out there??? when I get this monster done we may have to line 'em up my pos banks box against your Smarty TST stack!!!

well I've seen my boost gauge run over to about 48psi. now!!! thought it was gonna work there for a minute, turned the key on & the gauge shot over to 48 psi. but as I was backing out of the driveway it took a sputtering fit, pulled her back in & pulled the jumper out, it could be like the old 94'-97' powerstrokes, they had to see a normal pressure on startup & then you could fool them, but they worked off an actual boost line & not an electrical signal???? I dunno, it was a good thought, if anyone has anything to add let us know, thanks, Dusty

maybe actually run a switch, that way when the truck is started it'll be stock readings, then hit the switch just before accelerating..............
that may be the key???? too cold out to mess with right now, I may try it a little l8er on, maybe someone else will chime in to fill in some of the blanks we have on the subject??? it was worth the 10 minutes it took to try anyway??
