Any results with the Cooleeze downpipe/elbow yet?
Any results with the Cooleeze downpipe/elbow yet?
Buddy of mine is asking me about one. I see a 3 page thread in the "site news" forum, but I've seen no results yet...anything? Nothing comes up on a search either.

One fellow did an install and noted some slight improvements with spool-up and EGT's.

I think the elbow is the way to go, I know it still funnels to 3" but wastegate gasses have a way smoother exit with the enlarged mouth. It would be a simple to install because it would replace the cast elbow and bolt to the everyone's 4" aftermarket exhaust. Of course this only applies to those running a HX35 or similar exhaust outlet.

It is a nice looking elbow.. The Theory seems right to me if you are against the wastegate alot. This would probably not benifit some more stock units that only hit the wastegate at WOT and high RPM..
I didn't have any gauges when I did my 4" downpipe (with 4" straight exhaust, exits just behind the cab) but I have a pyro now. I haven't towed with it yet, but with my #10 plate slid forward a bit from stock, and lots of abuse from me, I've never seen much over 900 degrees. I think I got 1000 once while really hammering it. I also notice that even after coming up our 2.5 mile long hill to the house, at 30-40 mph with the TC locked and lugging it, or if I'm winding it up a bit to let her sing, I can pull into the driveway and be under 300 degrees by the time I reach down and shut off the headlights...just a couple seconds. I do have the wastegate line plugged, other than that just the #10 plate slid forward, 4" full downpipe, and pyro gauge. No boost gauge yet...but very soon.

One fellow reported a reduction of about 200 rpm and better fuel mileage...I don't have a clue how an exhaust elbow could possibly reduce RPM's I am just repeating what I was told.
I look forward to somebody testing egt's before and after install, I am curious how well it works with real world numbers. Having seen one in person it looks GREAT.
