Any Performance By Removing The Cat?

Have any of you removed the cat and notice an increase in performace? My truck is a 97 and it must have all kinds of crap in it.
Thanks.

im not that up on 97s but i know my truck pritty well, i dont think u have a cat, there should just be a muffler and a resinator, and the muffleer is the big one to get out of there to open it up, it would help to get them both out thought

Jlo, Jan.1 1994 to Jan.1 1998 ( start of 24V ) trucks all had Cats. I doubt it is really causing much of a performance drop, but I will say mine was full because of a clogged fuel filter. When I finally got a full shot of fuel, I smoked out a couple of counties while I burned all that stuff out.

Now it is just fine!
