Thumbs up Another happy Scotty Air / Wildcat diesel story

I bought a Scotty II from a member here, and received it the other day.. I was a little bummed to find that the housing had split at one of the seams where the 2 pieces are molded together (since he didn't mention it in the ad), but a little tape holds the housing together just fine. (I even found black duct tape, so it's not really noticable) The end of the filter is also a little crushed, but again, not a big deal, it's not hurting anything. I figured the previous owner jammed it in there, which made the 'cone' in the cowl end first crush the filter end, and then when the filter held, it split the housing. Coulda happened with anything.

But, I figured I'd call Rod @ Wildcat just to let him & Scotty know, for future reference... Mind you, I was very specific that I bought it second hand.. I wasn't looking for a replacement, or anything like that, just wanted to send a FYI..

Today, Scotty himself called me (on his "week off") and we worked out a very fair, but EXTREMELY generous (on his part) deal for a replacement housing for my truck...

We also chatted about new products, the Foreman grill, sheep & penguins thing, etc... Really nice guy, even though he talks funny

I've been heavily into automotive aftermarket for a little over 15 years, and currently own a small offroad fabrication shop, and strive for perfection, in both products and customer service.

Unfortunately, it's not often that I get the same when I am in the role of the consumer. But in this case, I've gotten a great product, at what is a good selling price new, with outstanding customer support from Rod @ Wildcat & Scotty!! I haven't yet purchased a single thing from Rod, but he's treated me like a loyal customer anyway, and it won't go unnoticed when it comes time to buy something...

Some people have expressed displeasure at the 'pimping' that the big advertisers get on here, but lemme tell ya, it's EARNED praise, not bought.

Just my $0.02.

I hear ya on this one. I couldn't be more pleased with Rod of Wildcat and DonM of F1Diesel. They're always ready to help ya if you break parts being stupid with excessive power. Sometimes canadian shipping gets in the way, but it gets here eventually.

The customs people said....." just cuz" Geesh!!!

Now , if Don would ever call Brandon back....life would be better for Brandon

I think there is a Customs Guy on one side with a Cummins Diesel who feels he needs to "Test" all the speed parts that cross the border.
The one's he really likes always take longer to get to their destination.

Weeell Don, I don't think it would help too much right now. I'm back to driving the Diesel Rabbit after grinding the back half of clutch disk #2 down to the rivets while drag racing last weekend. To top it off, my 1/4 times sucked! I mean 14.03... my grandma could do that! Also would have helped if all 4 tires would quit spinning and just hook up.

Hey hey hey, you doggoned Americans blaming us Canucks again. We have troubles with customs guys on both sides of the border

Seriously though, the shipping blues are such a pain in the neck for us up here. A large part of my day is spent trying to figure out where parts have ended up. We've had stuff stuck in customs for weeks on end, stuff routed through Mexico on its way up north, parts intended for Texas, coming from Tennessee that were routed through Washington state. We really appreciate our customers and the patience they show when this sort of thing occurs.

Only near the Great Lakes...

Caribou work better on the open tundra, whereas Saskatchewan residents ( ) tend to prefer ground squirrels and the occasional "Express Badger".

(Ooo...I'm gonna catch hell for that one )

Don't forget how things shipped to AUStria ending up in AUStrailia
and how stuff sent to Indiana ends up in Kansas and the DHL lady calls me asking ME why its there at their depot.

Soon things will be faster as the dog sleds we use will move better on snow.

Fear the Badger

Of course there times when stuff gets lost or falls thru the cracks.
I sure appreciate the patience of the folks I have spoken with.
Dealing with Rod is the tough part. Sheep BBAaAaaaAing in the background when ya call him gets to a guy sometimes.

DIK is usually the one repsonible for lost items.

I even made a service call clear over to Germany. Right Markus?

Scotty- Yep you came for a service call to Germany, and had the reinforcement guys with you... Lovely how the kids like to play

As for postage problems- Scotty I'm shure you sent one adapter again, but none reached me over here. Either they are buffered by a special posting adapter holdback agency to be used against me when it's evident that I got more than the reasonable amounbt of 0.7 adapters by post or the postman's lady already has a necklace, a bracelet etc in the true finely threaded styling

Have a nice day!

Markus

Also found out by browsing through Scotty's site that the previous owner didn't give me the metal band to go inside the filter!! This is NOT how fellow board members treat each other... Yeah, I'm PO'd.

You know who you are...

the Scotty II has an additional reduction of 100 F due to it being manufactured in COOOOOL Canada.

The latest adapter is en route to the rest of the shipment for your friends 12Valve. I just now got his circuit breakers.

Great- circuit breakers or fuses ?

I'd really consider the kids throwing the stuiff packed up in some smaller cars for training.
