After market CD player probs..

Tried to help a buddy put an aftermarket CD player in his 01 this afternoon , wired up the adapter cord , plugged it in , and no go? player turns on, and appears to work fine , but there is nothing from the speakers?

Plugged his deck into my truck and it worked perfectly? I even put my expensive JVC into his truck, and it didn't work?

Is there something different about the 01's that i am un aware of?

If the truck had the infinaty stereo system than you have to rewire to the speakers to the new radio. or use the little black things on the stock speakers that have two wires that connect to the speaker leads.

just a shot in the dark I had similar probs on a mustang once... It had the infinity or bose system that has its own amps built in. Had to hook the aux power wire to trigger the amps to come on just like you would if it had aftermarket amps.... Not sure if these trucks had stero's like that or not

all you need to do is hook up the amp control wire and it will work just fine. It is located to the far right of the factory black plug (looking at it as if you were plugging it into the factory radio). Hook that to the power antenna or amp control wire depending on what type of radio you are installing.

The truck doesn't have infinity sound... When i get home on the weekend i will give that amp wire a shot though.

the truck is presently going into the dealer for some warranty work, as well as this afternoon the gauge cluster died , and showed no bus in the odo window.
