hi
i have done the mods to my afc, it has a 20 lb spring i think ? stock

if i dont do any thing else just replase the 20 lb with a 40 lb spring will that add or subtract fuel at low boost psi ?

i have some smoke at low to moderat boost 6- 12 lb ?

still tryin to figer it out !

was told one from a 215 unit would work , anyone have one they dont need to replace my 180 20 lb er ?

 

The stiffer the spring, the more delayed low end fuel you get. Like you say "subtract fuel at low boost". It's kinda like spinning the star wheel farther back.

I probably have a 215 spring laying around (they're very stiff).

 

Softer spring more fuel quicker. I have PDR's lightest one (kit comes with two different ones) in my truck and it works good. i like the response alot more then with my stock 215 spring

 

Hey Mike what spring do you recamend in the 160 pump? I have done just about every Mod I possibly could on it except fooling with the springs in the Afc and screwing with the cams and Barrels which I would not do anyway. I sthere anything there to be had??

 

When I had a 160 pump I did the lightest spring from the TST/PDR afc kit.
