Aeromotive Pump and still low FP

Well I just finished installing my Aeromotive 150gph Pump with the Vulcan big line kit.

Started it up, gauge jumped to 13psi, then fell to 7psi, right where the stocker was idling.

I dont have the relay wiring in as I wanted to get some Fp immediatly because it has been real low for a few days and Iim trying to save my VP.

Any guesses why this is. The instructions say that is it factory set and the highest pressure setting.

Is the pump getting low power from the stock LP wiring.
Is my fuel filter that bad to keep a 18-20 psi pump to 7psi idle and easily suck it to 0psi.

Any Ideas.

Here the link to the pump.

I glad u posted

1) first question did u take the factory lift pump out and go with the new one from summit ,or are u using the summit pump with the factory pump acting as a booster.
2) is this the first problem u have had with the factory lift pump

Yeah the areomotive is a stand alone pump and my fuel pressure has been a slow decline over the past month or so.

My first thought was the LP but now after some thinking about what I used for fuel this summer has me thinking else where.

I ran a tank of homemade biodiesel and about 10 tanks of farmdiesel out of numerous tanks at work. I am going to put a new filter in tomorrow and see what happens.

I just dont see how the areomotive puts out the same as the stocker, its alot bigger and louder, its got to be doing something better????

TIA,
Jamie

I replaced the filter this morning and Im idling at 11psi and it wont drop below 9psi for normal driving. I still think this pump should be running more psi

any thoughts??

TIA,
Jamie

How many volts are at the new pump when it is running?

One other thing to try is to run a temporary suction line from the pump and down the fuel tank filler tube or into a jerry can and see what kind of fuel pressure you get.....it is possible that the inlet in the fuel tank is partially plugged and restricting flow - this quick test may confirm that.

Another thing to think about in the overflow valve on the VP44 going bad. If the pump checks out fine I'd be looking at the overflow valve on the VP44 next... Basically the banjo bolt on the return line...
