will adding the van aaken box that gives +60hp and 160tq wreck my auto tranny. it is going on an 01 ctd 4x4 i am also going to add a volant intake. will the van aaken make a big difference or will it mess up my tranny and rear end.

 

I added the Edge EZ(similar ratings) to my truck back in 2000. With 285's and stock gears,no problem. Added an 1800# camper,big problems. Shuddering at lockup. If you've got stock tires and don't tow much you should be okay. You might want to add some gauges. I'd get the Smarty though as it is adjustable and you have no wiring or box sitting on your fuse box or hanging off the V.P. Unreal low end and endless higher rpm acceleration.

 

i had a va on my 99 ctd with 315s and a air intake it ran really good and never had any problems with the trans . i think it ran better than my 01 i have now . for the money i would go with a va again its a nice low power box and if you want more later then stack a tst on top .
