Add a Leaf

I got a friend that has a regular cab LWB 12valve and he just had some coil spring spacers put in the front a few weeks ago. Now he wants to raise the back up a little too (couple inches at the most). Whats the best/easiest/cheapest way to do it? Only thing that comes to mind is maybe an add a leaf system but i dont have much experience with those. Any help is appreciated.

Add a leafs will definately be the easiest as they don't require any mods to your u-bolts or anything like that. Plus they will not add any excess spring wrap unlike putting larger blocks in between the axle and spring pack, which would also require longer u-bolts.

The thing to be careful of will be changing the angles regarding the relationship between the yoke of the rear pinion and the yoke of the output of the transfer case. If these angles change from one another, even just a couple of degrees, he will notice vibrations from the rear driveshaft causing premature u-joint wear and possible failure. When he gets the add a leafs (new shocks at this time is a good idea to make up for the additional lift), get some 2 degree axle shims as well just to be safe. They're cheap and if neccessary, nice to have on hand instead of having to have the truck down for a day or two.

The add a leafs would be the easiest and cheapest... Any more block hight in the back would be way to much. But they will stiffen the ride some. Some do it an say i is fine, others say it makes it to stiff, one of those things where everyone's tolerances is different. I would try an add a leaf, and if that makes it to stiff, get replacement skyjacker springs.

Add a leafs suck, I would find a spring shop and have them arched and add a real leaf, won't cost much more than a add a leaf. And it will be a good setup. Of course, this is just my opinion and depending on the use of the truck they might work fine.

I have a set of Skyjacker add a leafs that are needing a new home. Took them off after I didn't like the way my truck vibrated with my lift. They are for the 2.5 lift.
