4X4 launch

When I try and do a four wheel drive launch I can't build more than 10 psi before it feels like the engine starts to sputter. What could be the problem or is it normal?

With an auto in your truck, you won't be able to do a boosted launch without a BD RAD. The torque sensing defueling takes over without it. Basically what is happening is your computer is sensing increased RPM's and no wheel movement so it shuts down your fuel to prevent damage (they call this torque management). The engineers are always looking for new ways to help us.

Just like Wurkeman has mentioned, it is Torque management acting up on you. Smarty will help get rid of most of it, however a BD RAD will eliminate it entirely when on.

This is what you need/ what is mentioned above.
Believe me, it does the job. I noticed a big differance off the line once I got my RAD hooked up.
I dont race without it.

Yup, The BD RAD works well. (Now called the Speed Controller, I believe). Also allows higher top speed!
And a fairly simple install.
Be aware you lose RPM and oil pressure gauges when it is turned on.... and it will throw a code after you turn it off, for the next 3 starts.
But for Drag racing, it is a must have... especially if you will be going to bigger injector.
