For some reason I am having issues searching on the forum today so I will just ask this question which probably been asked several times before........

If I install a 4K spring kit with stock valve springs and keep the RPM's under 3400 I should be ok until I can get the heavy duty valves springs installed??


On my 97 with 185 HP (California smog) what RPMS will the 3K and 4K stop at?

And at what RPM's will the stock valves springs have issues?

As long as you keep the rpm around 3' you should be fine.

Stock starts to defuel around 2600 I think

The spring kits are designed to rev up to their name

3k should rev to 3000
4k should hit 4000

 

Big Deezul when I switch to the heavier valve springs is there a chance I could drop a valve down to far when doing the swap?

 

If the pistons are at or near TDC, the valve will only drop and 1/8" or less.

Oh by the way.... my 4k gov kit will get me to almost 4500rpms Man does the motor sound cool at that rpm!
