title pretty much explains the issue. it revs to 4k no problem, but when i floor it, it only hits 2900 max. i just want to know how to get my 4k rpm's. do i need valve springs to accomplish this. please, if theres a way to get even 100 more rpm's outta it let me know.

1st of all, YES, do NOT attempt to rev to 4k without 60lb valve springs.

That being said, did you lose one of washer thingies? Did you tighten the nut on the spring to the same amount as it was before?

 

I dont think youll see 4k with an auto while driving. Free revving should go way past 4k though

 

Common cause of incomplete throttle range is when someone messes with the linkage to adjust idle or TPS.

The linkage must be adjusted as below.


Also check that your throttle cable isn't stretched, fuel pressure is up to spec and shutdown solenoid is lifting all the way.

 

the whole throttle and all that stuff seems fine and in check. also, i may add that i have a major boost leak so big 20psi is max! when i floor it on the road 2900 is what i hit then im forced to back down because egt's get too hot. rpm's may still want to climb but ill never kno till i fix the leak. im fixing that 2moro so ill post up if that was the reason i was getting low rpm's.
