47RE Shift Control

What do I need, or need to do in order to change my shift points higher? I have looked for ecm controllers, beacuse i thought the shifts were controlled electronically in the 47re. anything?

You can do some tweaking of shift patterns within the VB using different springs. Controllers usually control lock-up.

Again, Change the Kick down cable. If this was a true electronically controlled tranny you wouldn't have a kick down. If you want a electoncally controled tranny buy a 4L80 that gm started back in 94.

This is electonic governor, OD and lock up shift points are controlled by ecm. The Governor pressure is also controlled buy the ecm, but still 1 mph=1 psi of governor pressure. Governor pressuer counter's the TV (kick down) perssure to cause the spools to move wich make's the tranny shift. There are also springs that can be change wich some shift kit have. I believe the springs counter the governor pressure with the tv pressure.
If you want later shift points in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears. pull the kick down housing out a click or two. If you want earlier shift points. Adjust in in a click or two. If you don't like the Point a wich Overdrive kicks in, or when the TCC locks up, you out of luck. Mybe there's after market controllers that lets you control those point. DTT has something.
Point is!! this is not a true electornic trans. it's half breed.
