3GSK & #10 plate = less than 9mpg

I just put in the above and my mpg just went to the floor. Some of it is the foot testing the new tune, but less than 9mpg??

I was getting 15-16 mpg before, and that was with slipped timing (12.5*) and valves in need of adjustment.

Any thoughts? That kind of mpg is not where I want to be.

Something is definatly wrong there. My 95 knocked out just under 20MPG on country highway driving and approx 16MPG last tank in town. Is your trans slipping? If not I would change filters first and see what happens. If you can I would check the fuel preasure also. Is your ride smoking when it shouldnt be? What are your EGTs doing? Is it possible that your gov arm is going under the plate? I am not an expert on these things but this is the info the gurus are going to want to know.

I will check the governor arm. EGT's I don't know, I am shopping for a pyro now (I know I know, but no towing etc. until its in).

I just did my tranny service less than 1k miles ago. Also new fuel filter, screen, oil change.

It must be in the adjustments within the AFC.

It does sound alot like your governer arm

U might wanna back off the starwheel too if at all possible. If your plate full forward or in stock position? eitherways, Try the arm and starwheel first, if still unsatisfied, then back the plate up..

The gov arm is a bit high- it hits the torque plate about the thickness of the gov arm (not its width) above the bottom.
How do you adjust the gov arm? I'll do a search in the meantime. FOUND IT...
Thanks

OK, everything is adjusted and I spun the star wheel off a bit as well as moved the plate. I'll see how it pans out.
The gov arm is right where it should be.
I also re- checked the gov springs, making sure they have the same # of clicks on the nut.
