35x12.5x18's on stock 4x4?

I have a 97 2500 4x4 with snowplow prep and camper prep package (IE sits pretty darn high). Would 35x12.5x18's fit on this truck? I currently have 265/75/16 and have had 295/75/16's in the past with no issues.

Also they are mounted on aftermarket XD diesel rims (unsure of backspacing) and came off a 2004 ram 2500. Should these be ok?

thanks in advance, Tim

Depending upon the backspacing you're going to need at least a leveling kit if not more.

I basically have the same truck (snow plow/camper package) and when I was running 33x12.5's on 16.5 rims it would just barely rub near full lock up front. I think a 3in lift would compliment 35's nicely, a guy I work with has that on his gasser 3/4 ton and it looks right.

I've got the camper package, and a leveling spacer on the front. I've got the xd diesel wheels (18"), and I'm running 325/65/18 (35x13.50x18) and it just ever so slightly touches my fender when i turn and the tires are brand new. Don't remember what backspacing i ordered on the wheels....... Also Don't remember how close i was before the leveling kit with 33's. Anyway you can do a test fit before you buy them?

i had 35x12.5x16 stock rims on my bone stocker and it would rub the control arms andfront and back of wheelwell but was completely driveable. i now have that tire in a 17 and leveling kit and no rub esecially, it actually just barely touches the back of the wheelwell but is is only noticable cause u can see the slight rub, not feel it. this is most likely due to not moving the axle forward with longer lower control arms after the leveling. also 17s are aftermarket and i think backspacing is 4.5? so even at full turn theyr a good inch away from the control arms. luv being able to run 35s on a stocker

Id say you would need a lot of backspacing to make that work even at 3". Maybe 5-6" worth?
I have 4.5 BS 16.5x10's with 33x12.50s on them now and they do not rub with 3" lift. But they stick out a lot and needed fender flares to be legal.

I guess none of you guys take your trucks through the rough stuff. If you use your suspention through full articulation you are in for a world of hurt unless you do a good 4" minimum lift. You may be able to get away with it on the street, but anytime a tire is touching somewhere other than the road it not a good thing. just my op.
