24v low fp light.

Hey guys i usually live in the 12v world, but my neighbor has a 02 24v 6spd i told him i would help him out a little with. He is just looking for little better milage and response so i was thinking a quad milagemiser. and he still has the stock lp ive heard there is a low fp warning light kit, but is there something else thats a bit nicer and will display fp and also with a milage chip thats not too expensive.
thanks for any advice

Just a fuel pressre gauge, or for more money you can get a digital display that does it all....

xzt+ and a mechanical fuel pressure gauge with an isolator. Some will disagree about the isolator part but i've have never had a problem with mine.

I believe the fuel pressure gauge has to be tapped in. My mechanical one is anyways. I threw the isolator away after an unfortunate incident with antifreeze and my driver's seat, just make sure you have a needle valve to shut it off. Get a good lift pump while you're at it. Money well spent and you don't have to worry about vp44 dieing (as much).

What he should really do put in the vulcan kit, then you have bigger lines to the VP44 and a great spot to tap in for fuel pressure. It also relocates the stock pump for easier replacement and so the engine doesn't rattle it to death. He might as well use the stock LP til it dies then put something else in. That combined with an FP gauge and the XZT+ and you have a super milage/towing setup. Its about $150 or less for the kit i think and definitely worth it.

I used a hose from Geno's for the fuel pressure, it screwed on the Shrader test port on the VP, easy install and no cutting lines or tapped banjo bolts. I did loose the test port for easy access but no problems at all so far, cost about ~20 when I bought it 2.5 years ago. It did take some -an fittings to JIT (I think JIT) to make it all work but found those locally. That was the snubber end and gauge, from Genos it just screwed on the shrader and had a plunger to push it in without having to remove the needle.

Good luck.
