How much lift is 20* timing??

Right now I'm at 6.0mm lift, but I started at 6.7mm...6.7mm was WAAAAYYY too high for me. Lots of rattle, but she ran really good above 4K all the way to 5500RPM. 6.0 feels better, but I think it might be a bit high yet, which doesn't make sense because 5.6mm is 16*, 6mm should only be about 18 by my math!

Anyone know for sure??

that is 18 by my charts, i had 20 on my 97 and i really liked it with the big single. but i poped the head gasket.

 

That's what I was thinking...where did you set it for 20*??

The pump shop set mine at 19.2degrees. That measures out at 6.1mm on my 887 pump.

6.2mm of lift, the truck really likes it. and it revs like a small block chevy.

 

wouldi pop a head gasket with 6.2mm and 55-60 PSI on a stock gasket with studs?
