2011 6.7
Heya y'all. Bet youre wonder why I'd be posting up about my 4th gen over here. Well, I had to share this with y'all. Just finished up some work on it. S467 turbo, head studs, fire rings, nozzles and the such. To fit the S400 turbo a swap to a 2nd manifold was needed. I went with the Stainless Diesel one.

Just wanted to post up a couple of vids for y'all showing how it changes the exhaust tone of the 6.7
I think it sounds pretty dang good!
Tooling around town.
In cab tone and spool up.
Hope y'all enjoy!

When I first started looking and asking questions and calling guys, both 5.9 and 6.7 people in the know, almost every 5.9 guy I talked to said that running a 66 turbo for a daily driver was laughable at best, and a few thought I had lost my mind. Wanting to run a large frame S400 turbo, even got a few snickers. Well, I have learned that the 6.7 can move more air than a politician on the campaign trail. The S467 would be the SMALLEST turbo I would run on this thing, period. There are guys running S472's and S475's as singles with pump mods and larger nozzles and its completely streetable.
That being said, I have never really got into a 5.9 build. My '90 I left alone, and Dad's 02 has 199,xxx (literally, hes about to hit the big 200k) trouble free miles on it, and hes happy in its stock form with the Smarty. He wont even let me touch it. I told him Id foot the bill for a new turbo and some injectors and was shot down. If it breaks I can play, I was told.
So, if I had to take an educated guess. I would say a set of 75hp injectors and a 62mm turbo, something along the lines of an S362 with a tight A/R, the biggest I would go would be .91, Im not sure how it would spool with the .88, but I would imagine a bit slower because its an open housing, and not a divided set up.
And then you get the T3 vs T4 debate. I would think with the right setup, T4 would work, but a T3 setup should spool at a bit lower RPM's
To be honest, Mike Holmen would be the man to talk to in this situation. Let me put out the BatSignal and see if he can lend some info.
Thanks Bud! I am completely satisfied with the way everything turned out. I did lose my factory exhaust brake, but, I'm really not missing it that much now.....
