Ok went and looked a a truck today for a possible buy. It was a 01 3500 with a flatbed, some storage boxes and fifth wheel. Its 2wd, automatic tranny and has about 118k on the clock. Seemed to start and drive real wheel. (was about 35* when it started no problem) No mods its completly stock. They occasionally pulled a bobcat with it too. Its just a basic model, no power anything but has cruise and tow mirrors.

Have the maintenance history since 63k because it was done and the shop i work at now, just had new front brake and rotors put on.

They are asking 3200$ for the truck, what do yall think good deal? Figure if i get it ill clean it up real nice and paint the flat bed and use it for towing and such.

 

Looks like a hole in the dash top other than that the only potential real money you my need to put into it could be a vp-44 failure or the tranny depending on how it has been used and maintained.

I would say from what i see i would take it for that kind of money. Throw them a cash offer of 3k.

 

Looks good to me. I agree, VP-44 and a trans work maybe soon.

 

Sounds like a good truck and price unless it's a 53 block with cracks.
