2000-UP Brakes to 98 truck??

What all do I need to change out the PITA rotors on my 98, to the easier to service styke on the 2000-up trucks. Also, can I change to the newer 2 piston calipers??

I'm guessing hubs, rotors, and calipers...but should I try and locate the whole outside steering knuckle assembly from a newer truck?? Will the axle shafts in my 98 work with the newer stuff?

I'm needing brakes, and I want to upgrade as much as I can to help stop a little better!

Thanks in Advance guys,
Chris

i think you oughtta put the rear disk brakes off of a 01.5 - 02 on your truck. They stop much better!

That requires a new Rear axle...as soon as I find one, I will...but until then, the drums are fine!

Desides, I'm gonna see what it takes to shred this D70 first

Chris,

Have you looked into the EGR's? Even if you aren't interested in them I'm sure you could get the answers you are after just by calling Glen. The next time I'm close to your place I'll let you drive my truck. The difference is not so noticeable in normal stopping, but very noticeable under load and there is ZERO fade when getting on the brakes hard because someone pulled out in front of you while gouging on it!

I'm sure the EGR stuff is good...but do you still have to pull the whole wheel bearing assy to replace the rotors?? That's the biggest thing I want to get rid of! I won't be towing that much with this truck, but with 150lbs of wheel/tire on each corner I want something that will stop me AND be easily replaced. I'm not real easy on brakes, but I try not too abuse them either!
