2000 surging???

ok my buddies 2000 at 55 constant thotle was surging. it doesit at constant throtle and thats the only time. i was wondering if someone had a similar problem or any idea of whats wrong with it. he has a 140 hp granatelli and bully dog horse power adder which i think is good for 70 and a hypertech downloader which is 66hp could that be why? but when he turns the granatelli and bully dog off it still does it.

That's an odd stack. If more than one of those boxes adds timing then I would get rid of one ASAP before he tears it up. Too much timing could also contribute to the surging.

Mine surges at ~1250-1500 rpm* & when I splained that to my tech over the phone, he told me that I needed a noise filter. Please don't ask me what that is or where it goes or what it filters cuz I dunno.

*it quickly goes away when I accelerate thru that range.

I experianced this with my turbo and have learned to drive around it I believe that a surge is going to happen with an aftermaket turbo if the conditions are just right. No big deal just learn what the conditions are when it happens and avoid it.

ok thanx for all your input. im not sure how many give timing but it runs great with all on max my bro has an 01 auto juice with attitude 100hp sticks and the 2000 would proly keep up with it so its not hurting it i dont think but i guess it may be how could you tell if there is too much timing? like would the motor make a funny noise or anything?
