20% Bio diesel at the pump?

I filled up the other day and half way though refueling I looked on the pump and it said that the fuel contained 20% bio diesel. Has anyone else seen this? My exhaust also smells a little different. Just curious. Thanks

Eric

It was probably luck of the draw that you pulled up to a pump that had B20.
I'll bet if you had looked around that some of the other pumps were straight #2 or other percentages of bio.

I had no idea they were doing that. All the other pumps were just straight #2. It was on the pump that didn't have a roof for the big trucks

You will be fine, I run B20 all of the time.

I'd run B-20 all the time if the only station in the area would stop paying games with the prices.
One day it's 30 cents per gallon higher than straight diesel,.....a week later it's within a couple of pennys.
And the station is tucked away in a seldom traveled corner of the county, and they don't get many 'hits' on www.gasbuddy.com

You might want to keep an eye on post filter pressure. If it starts to drop then you might need to change the fuel filter. Usually, the first run of B20 will loosen-up/clean your tank, lines, and everything in between and it all ends up in the fuel filter. Just something to keep an eye on.

It will make your exhaust smell different than running straight #2. I filled up with a full tank of Willie Nelson's B20 the other day on the way home. That weekend while hauling hay, I kept trying to figure out what the strange smell was when I was stopped and idling, then it dawned on me that I was running the B20. Wasn't the french-fry smell that some describe when running B100...more liked french fries cooked in #2.

On the bright side, the fuel system must not be too dirty as I didn't see any drop in fuel pressure during or after the tank.
