1st Gear on Auto Revs to 3000+ RPM
Hello,
I purchased a Goerend Valve Body mm months ago and I thought it was running the way it should, until I've been reading up and had an incident the other night while driving the truck.
With just a Valve Body in my stock transmission, how should it shift while under WOT? I have sent a couple emails to Dave, but obviously he is busy/off work from the holidays. He tried calling me but I was at work..but anyways.
If I start from a dead stop, WOT 1st will rev out to over 3000RPM, then it'll kick 2nd, lock up in 2nd like 2 seconds later, then hit 3rd, and carry on into lock up again for 4th. However one night while driving her hard and taking off at WOT the truck started in 1st, but once at about 10km/h it was in 2nd, or lock up 2nd and would pull pretty good, accelerate quite a bit faster and shift on normally. It did this 3 times and then went back to where 1st rev's all the way up to redline.
Is my kickdown adjustment causing this? Do I need to have my kickdown quite tight and closed while under WOT? Will my 1-2 band adjustment be causing this?
I just have a fear that my transmission isn't running right and it should be shifting into 2nd right after 1st while WOT.
Thanks
Dinner

He sent me an email not to long ago about adjusting it. I had it back (what I thought was far enough) and it would rev to 3500RPM (in the redline anyways). I didn't like the idea of having 1st gear rev out to 3500RPM so I adjusted the kickdown back some.
Maybe I didn't have it back far enough yet? Maybe it needs to be back ALL the way and so then it will recognize that and it'll shift into 2nd right away like im guessing it should?
Thanks Redliner
