12V Super B Tuning Advice

I recently put a Super B on my truck. It was a good improvement over the stock turbo as far as EGT's and power. I'm looking to get it to spool a bit quicker with the tight DDT converter (18-1900RPM stall) I have.

The stock turbo was laggy as well. I have my AFC and plate about in the middle. The govenor arm hits the plate at the very bottom tip. I get about 2-3 seconds of smoke and it clears up nicely after that but it's a dog at low speeds especially pulling my train. Any ideas on what I can do for a bit more off-idle grunt?

Thanks

Your somewhat large turbo will have some lag, no matter what but tune your afc so that you only have a very small amount of smoke (just a whisper) at take off/low boost. Most like yourself, are too aggressive on low/no boost fuel and spool-up suffers because of too much fuel at no/low boost. Plate position doesn't matter for spool-up. It's all about afc housing and spring/star wheel position.

Berner:

I would recommend a device that "BD Diesel Performance" recently came out with called a "Turbine Diverter Valve." Two of my friends have this device on their Dodge CTD 12 valve trucks and they work real well. This device really helps the bottom end/takeoff.

Here is a link for you if you are interested:
