12 second truck

What does it take to get a 12valve truck single cab 2wd, slicks,
to run 12 seconds in the 1/4 mile?

The fastest truck around here is a 79 ford gasser,,,, hmmm lots of money invested! runs its best 12:000 seconds

What does it need to keep up with him, mods wise? and money wise?

Will a 215 pump do it? or do i need a stoopid?
Twins or single?
what injectors?
auto or manual?
what engine work?

a friend of mine wants to spend the money!!

I think you can do it on a stock pump with some tweaks
Built auto trans
Twins or a big single
drag radails
studs
custom plate
4k gsk
lazer cut dvs
lots of timing
bigger injectors (435s or DDP 4s)
Maybe a bit of spray (No2 or Water/Meth)
and other stuff that folks whill chime in on.

Click one of the ad banners for PDW. That guy makes a crap-ton of power using nitrous and sells some kits.

Since the NO2 adds air you shouldn't have to worry if that turbo is big enough. I think you'll like the 64 regardless. HTT says they're good for 500-550, unless you bought their brand spanking new Quick Diesel 64 then make that 575 Do you have enough fuel??? Sorry I can't help with the 12v stuff

im not sure but i have recorded time slips for 12's in the 1/4 but have ran a few low end 12's but i run on stock all terrain tires, if i had slicks i am not sure how much of difference it would be i can only think possably 2 1/2 secs.... because i normally spin the tires tell 2nd gear on my 12's passes...

I would also try to lighten up the truck if your gonna drag race. Most dodge trucks are around the 6500 lbs plus mark. The ford is more than likely around the 4500 mark. You need a ton more power to haul it down. I would like to see my truck run if it weighed 4500lbs, it would kill lots of cars here forget the truck. Typically 4X4 trucks have the best 0-60 ft times, if you boost launch.

He was talking about the 79 Ford. If it is just a half ton 2wd, it would be in that weight range.

I think the new line of htt turbos are designed to compete with the II Super Phatshafts.

I think I would go get your 913 pump tweaked i.e. springs, valves, bump-up your CC's. Don't go the stopid pump route, it a big pump and is almost un-streetable. The smoke would kill ya. Talk to Don and get a set of his 24v pump killers. I would run a B2 as a primary and what ever is cheapest for a secondary turbo. HX40 will last and its cheap. With all the fuel you have those twins would spool up fast. Your gonna need slicks or launch in 4X4 mode. That converter might kill some of your 60ft times though. The secert is your injection pump, after that its just money and tuning.

I run 12.90 with a smaller pump. Its like they said all you need is fuel and air. I have a s400 to add to my s300 and hope with some minor pump work I will be in the 11's.

Thats where i got lost! what exactly to you mean?

and you guys think a single wont do it? so i suppose an HT3B is too small too, right?
how about a htb2 and a B2, ohow laggy would that be? of course, then there are the headstuds, and the oring!!

Don (Formula 1) has built some big P pump 24v sticks. I think Lenny at DDP has a big HP pump 24v truck as well. A big single will work, its just gonna be a laggy and smokey truck. Your gonna have to find something that will flow air like a 3B turbo and that can build some boost as well. A BHT3B turbo is good for around 35psi area. I think that twins would just make your truck so much more fun to drive on the street. For running twins people typically lower the wastegate pressure on your secondary turbo to keep the drive pressure down.
