ya most guys run the 12 .The 14mm are pretty much for sled pulling motors. Not that it cant be done, but you have to drill and tap the bottom end for the 14's to go in.12mm and o rings are good for 90 percent of the trucks out there

Well the stock head bolts are 12mm that is why I was wondering if 12mm studs would be all that great.

What are your HP goals? I wouldn't even think about having to drill and tap the block if I was going for 650 or less. Even if I was going for more I wouldn't pull the motor untill I proved to my self that the 12mm couldn't do the job. If the block is already out and I was shooting for 800+, I would think real hard about it. JMO, and that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

studs

my opinion, the only 14mm studs i would use would be main studs. the head studs that i have can be twisted just as much as the 14mm's. they are 625 new age 12mm's . and you don't have to pull the motor to properly locate and drill and tap for the 14mm's.

What year truck? 700 HP is a lofty goal for a 24 valve 98.5-02. It is difficult to get the fueling necessary for that much power.

How high are you going to take the tq on the 625s? I hear they can do 150lb-ft with ARP lube
