#10 vs #6

Everybody out here seems to run a 10. By looking at the speck on each a 5 or 6 would be better. I have a 6 in right now slid forword. In my hot little hand i have a #10 and 3k kit. I just dont want less power than i have now. I tow at 1600-1900 help me make the desion.

yes, in the auto a 6 is rated at 30 more horse and 65 more ft of torque than a 10.

plate

I thought that the 10 plate pulled fuel out at higher rpms? That can help egts . I have ran both, in my 95. It runs good enough for me. I doubt that it makes 300hp, as high as fuel is that is all I can stand. Jim

I agree here

but if you tow, u will need to watch the pyro alot more with a 100 than with a 10... Especially if u have the mods in my sig... But again, with good right foot control, ull be good to go...

I always wondered why a 100 would be better then a 4 or 5 or 6
those are deeper on top then the 10 or 100 or 0

I just put in the 3k and 10 plate. She climbs like a gasser and pulls like a mad man. with load tach shows 50 rpm slipping, dont know if i like that. but this thing will out pull my 6 plate anyday thanks for the input guys. I put the plate about 1/8 from all the way forword.

Any difference in plate depth can be made up by sliding the plate fore or aft.

you can't get the benifits of the deeper plats when they are slid forwar without doing the afc mods.

With mods to the AFC do the EGT's get out of control really fast?

Yes, they can....if you don't have the appropriate amount of extra air. A #0 or #100 when much more forward than stock will need to have the AFC modded for max rack travel to allow the governor arm to touch the plate.

FWIW, disregard the hp levels stated for all the plate profiles - they assume you will have the plate in the stock position. Put a #10 in and position the plate where it best suits you.....or put a #100 in if unlimited top end fuelling is a priority......or a #0 if you have a stout drivetrain and don't require any fuelling limitations and don't require smoke control.
