#10 and 3kGSK on 180 pump
#10 and 3kGSK on 180 pump
Anyone running a #10 plate and 3k GSK on a 180hp pump? How did/does it run, and are EGTs reasonable?
TST doesn't recommend that plate on that pump, thats why I'm asking.

I'm told my Bank's plate is about a #6. With my setup I get to full boost real quick and temps will reach 1300 before I back off. Don't think it would go much past that. , this is with nothing in tow. 4" exhaust helps.
I have a Piers 10 plate and 3k gsks and it runs pretty good. EGTs are not a problem at all. Well up until maby 85 or so I hit about 1400* and thats wide open from a stop. Thats with everything full forward. Dont hold me to this but my transmission with 10k on a rebuild is doing just as it did before the plate. I feel that it will last me several more months until I get a built tranny. I had my stock plate full forward before I put the 10 and gsks in and it is alot stronger now. It doesnt smoke much unless you hit it with no boost, then it will roll a cloud.
My truck was CA emission when new so has that pump, runs awesome with #10 & 3KGSK, full forward it killed the stock clutch! Can get egt to 1400 and boost to 40#, but if you put it in stock location should be ok
I dyno'd 290/710 with a Scotty, #10 forward (a little bit back from full forward), #k, and a straight-piped, stock exhaust. EGT's were great until 3000+RPM, but I made max HP just over 2k anyway... if my wastegate worked, EGT's would have been better..
