1 or 2 stacks

well i have a single 5" x 36" stack on the way...im wondering if I should find another and do the duals jsut to make it look even or should I save the money and time by doing a single 5" and saving the money for other mods

anyone think a single stack on the right side of the bed would look out of place by itself?

I would personally go with 2.Your going to the trouble of putting a stack, might as well go all the way.I think they look better, but hey it's your truck so you do what you think looks cool. One wont look bad.just my $.2

im on a limited budget...so if i can do the duals for cheap ill do them, but i need to save money for a clutch and injectors so i can have some smoke to come out of the stack

I'd go with the duals. Do a search for stacks and you should be able to find more than you'd ever want on how to build them cheaply.

I bet one would look fine. And if you wanted later you could add another.Like you said you have to have smoke for you stack,so maybe you should do that.I bet either way will look great.

i was going to search for the cheap ways to build it as my best friend is a welder so no problems in the fab department really, just materials and where to find them.

the search function for the forum is turned off tho

I know lots of trucks with single stacks. Looks fine done preoperly.

The one guy I know even has a tractor style rain flapper on top of his.

how serious is the rain issue on a slash cut stack rather than a turn back style?

rain isn't THAT big of a deal IMHO... I ran dual miter cut stacks, and I'm pretty heavily fueled, and it would sprinkle a little soot after a good rain but nothing insane. I got about the same amount w/ the turnbacks.

if I didn't have a toolbox across the bed, I would run a single stack... singles sound sharper and meaner, and I would imagine the interior resonance would be less w/ a pass side stack than with one right behind your head.

but I thought a single stack would look kinda wierd w/ the toolbox slid back, so I went w/ dual stacks.

one thing I really miss about my stacks is that I got NO exhaust smell in the cab when sitting at a light idling

i would go with a single turnout because the water will get down in the stack and spatter soot all over and eventually rust out the pipe at the bottom and snow will just clog up the stack

i hope ur not "buying" all ur parts full price...go to a big rig bone yard and get whatever u want hack em off and buy some chrome polisher and they're new!!! get ur elbows there too...save urself the money please.....as for one versus two well give it acouple months and u'll have twin stack envy! trust me then u'll wanna get two and have to drill another hole!! just be patient and get two right off the bat...unless ur running a dually then dont get the turnouts! looks horrible on a 2500 IMHO miter cuts is the way to go on a 2500 unless ur running really wide wheels/tires

get your elbows at USA truck parts... online... you have to call in orders under $500, but they list all the dimensions of each bend, and their prices are CHEAP!

I used to not like turnouts on a 2500... still don't, but if you face them directly back, they look sweet... I ran them on my truck like that for a while, and it looked awesome.

yeah thats true..face em back...ive also seen these different types of turnouts...i dont really know how to describe them someone will help me here...they're not "curved " turnouts they're sorta bent and point right out they look sweet...u guys know what i mean? like the top foot of the stack is sharply facing outwards a bit look much better than classic turnouts
