Does your dog fall into this category?
Pit Bulls, Alaskan Malamutes
Rottweilers, Akitas
Chow Chows, American Staffordshire Terriers
Doberman Pinschers, Boxers
German Shepherds, Great Danes
Siberian Huskies, Wolf-hybrids
Perro de Presa Canarios.
The Presa Canario breed came to the forefront when Diane Whipple was attacked and killed outside the door of her California apartment.
Any dog that has any of the above breeds in their lineage
This is from thishttp://www.dogbitelegalcenter.com/re...mmon-dogs.html site trying to get people to sue you if your "blacklisted" dog bites somebody.
Just thought you'd like to know why you may not be able to get homeowner's insurance as I will be looking for a house soon and will have to hope they like rotties. Fred may have to become a poodle for a while

i dare anyone to ever tell me my pit bull is mean and take her away. she wouldnt hurt a fly, but does have a bark mean enough to protect my family and home.
seriously, its the mean owner, not the dog anyone should worry about.

Exactly my point. People don't need to be scared of dog breeds just because the have no experience with them. They are "man's best friend" for a reason.

I'm not a dog man myself - I don't really even care for the cat I have. But, I do know that I have had several pits start to come at me while I am mowing lawns. 2 of the homeowners w/ the pits are at home all the time & they get taken care of very well. But for some unknown reason they don't like me there & they let me know it. I don't really take a stand on "bad" breads, but those things really keep me on my toes.

My parents have two rotts the puppy is closing in on 140 lbs and the old man is about 125 lbs. Both look like they mean business but they are the biggest teddy bears I've ever seen. the only time they get aggressive is if someone threatening in near my mom. They'll defend her and they'll get mean if someone broke in the house. I love my parents dogs but I'm going to end up finding a bulldog for myself.

That's insane, downright idiotic if you ask me.
I've spent 19 years of my life growing up around German Shepards and I absolutly would not own anything else. Yea, we've had mabe 2-3 Shepards out of the many dozens we've had that were slightly aggressive. They were only aggressive because they were raised to be so, I know two of them went to the Ft.Levenworth Police dept in Kansas for use by the cops.
I honestly couldn't image not having my dogs around. Their loyal, they listen and they do their jobs well. When my 10 year old sister leaves our house to play outside those dogs will follow her to eternity and back & still make sure shes ok.
This is just another bunch of yahoos trying to impose a BS law.

i have a boxer and he is a big baby. one time, though, 2 kids were walking down the road, my dog walked up to the kids and one of them lunged at my dog and he snapped at the kid. ever since then, just to be safe, we dont let him out w/ out his leash.

When ever i have had my dogs in public or people over for a get together the dogs were leashed up and had there muzzle on. They would stay in there dog run for functions and only get to come out if they had there muzzle on since i just worried about someone teasing the dog into snapping and it also kept them from getting treats and learning to beg. Now when it was pool time the muzzle comes off and the tennis ball goes in LOL. All my dogs were labs of some kind (chocalate, black and yellow). except the party cocker i had when younger and my boston terrier.

Unfortunateley statistics don't lie. We can all jump up and down saying they are wrong and my dog is the best but the facts are the same. It's just like certain people complaining about being singled out at an airport for a security check, complaining of racial profiling. Maybe so but the fact is they are just more likley to cause trouble. That being said I currently have a great black lab, my next will be a rotti, one of my best friends has a pitbull that is the biggest suck in the world. Maybe certain breeds just attract certain types of owners?
