are you just TIRED of owning too MUCH stuff?

i remember being young, and not having much, and thinking "man, if i could just have one of those...."

well, now, God's blessed me to teach me a lesson (that's how the Bible puts it, it's more like a good thrashing)

and now, i've had all i can stand. we got 4 cars (trying to sell 2), one was wifes DD, but she now works with me, other was kids, she left it here and moved on with "no strings." other was wife's "weekend/midlife crisis car" and the CTD for my DD.

and got a big house, a yard with a HUGE ditch that irritates me to no end, takes forever to cut. and got another rental house that i could not get to sell, that needs some work too.

just really got all the "material crap" that seems like it would make "a good life"

but it's just annoying, all the cars need washed, waxed, vacuumed, the house needs mopped & dusted, the lawnmower needs a new starter, both my little trailers needs painted.

why do humans get so much junk that they can't manage it, then call themself successful?

i need to DOWNSIZE to save my sanity. somebody pray for me...

I hear ya, I was just thinking the same thing the other day.I got the big house with an acre, and extra acre next door to mow, 3 cars to maintain, a boat to maintain, a golfcart, a motorcycle, and a fifthwheel to keep up too.I might have the motorcycle sold, and I did have the extra land sold, until they couldn't get come up with the money.I'd just like my boat, fifthwheel, and my truck, and I'd be happy, and would have time to use them.

You shure its just not time to buy a bigger place so you will have room to hide, I mean store your stuff. I thought thats why we buy new houses because we get to much stuff.

park the two extra cars at the rental and offer it as a package deal...

The only thing I have that annoys me is the huge tree (good 36" diameter) that is literally 2 feet from my house. Other than that, the morgage isn't that bad, the car payments aren't that bad, the bills aren't that bad.

My wife and I went through all the "bigger is better" syndrome a few years ago when we decided to look for a bigger house. We thought a lot about it, looked for a year, and decided to stay. Smaller, but very liveable, and now paid for free and clear. However, that does not mean that we are free and clear of all of our crap. Everyday I walk around the house and my woodshop and feel all of this "stuff" dragging me down, not a good thing. It is getting to the point where I do not care about its value, I just want it gone!!!!!!! Maybe writing this will get me off my a** and actually get rid of it!!!!!?????? I think that humans are packrats by species.
E-Bay anyone?

We have a 6 month rule around here. If it has not been used in 6 months it is gone. After I realized I was carrying insurance on 7 motorized modes of transportaion this past summer we dropped to 2 vehicles. I'll rent a vehicle if one breaks.

My parents just moved after being in the same house for 30 years, I sware I will not acumulate that much crap. NOOOOO way!

I don't know about having lots of things, but I know a little about making payments. Walking into the bank might as well be making a deal with the devil himself. I couldn't see them, but when I came out that door with my shiny new loan, there were chains on my ankles. I could go wherever I want, but make no mistake, those chains were there. Took a chunk of my savings and paid my bike off a couple weeks ago and I feel a million times better. Now, it's here in the classifieds
