Oh no! My DI at Ft Polk in early 70's made us do burpee's. My knees still hurt.

LOL. So you stand up, crouch, put your hands on the ground, kick your legs out like you're about to do a push up, and reverse. It gets old real quick...unless you can mix it up like those iraqi soldiers. LOL!

 

Oh yeah, they made us do those in the Academy....

We called them Oh Crap We're Gonna Die's.......

 

I have a ultimate burpie... it's when you do them under a pull up bar, and when you jump up, you grab the bar and do a pull up.

 

You forgot one key component in that mix. Down a 6 pack prior to. Although the burpie might be more of a foamie. Depends on how much you bounce around.

 

Just make sure you re-gulp it back down or it becomes a beerie wastey..

 

Bark..were you at North Fort or South Fort?I was at the old,really old section in, geez was it that long ago,1964.

 

We were in the old firetrap (actually built by German POW's) barracks. But darned if I can remember if they called it N or S. I have a rough time remembering that place. Seems like one day I was just getting out of HS and the next I have some crazy DI (sorry madhat) screaming at me about a button being crooked.

 

Oboy,off the stand-up bus,to the yellow marks.and then the fun began."LOW CRAWL out to the fire box(between the barracks) and back...a few times.One of my di's was in the "Bay of Pigs" fiasco.He took nothing from nobody nohow notime noway!

 

By the time I went in the DI's were fresh back from Nam and some of them were chomping at the bit to get back for another tour. After one day the only place I wanted to go was back home. One of the other few things I remember was getting a tick in my ear in the first week and having to wait an extra day to get it removed.
