The wifes car

1.3 L Twin rotor. 250 Hp @ 8500 RPM

It's not as fast as the truck and would be lucky to be in the 14's, but it's still fun to drive Oh ya it makes a whoping 162 Ft lb of torque

I saw a Jetta the other day that had a round hole cut into the hood and a round K&N filter sticking about 3" out of the hood. No hoodscoop, nothing to shield it from rain, nothing. Looked really stupid!! There was a documentary on street racing the other day showing a couple guys w/ very modified rice cars. One of them was running 11s!!

I saw on tv the other day where they are engineering a 4 cylinder engine that can produce more hp than the V8 drag cars. Of course it had 4 turbo's and ran on a special mix of computer injected fuel, but its still impressive! Some of those ricers are just as neat as the old muscle cars! Just wish the mufflers didnt wake me up at 3 in the morning...

I love how a lot of people think that parts' advertised horsepowers are additive. Like the headers added 50 HP, the intake added 25, the ignition added 20, etc, etc and so now I have an extra 100 HP. Yeah right. If it really worked like that, I'd have 500 HP in my 1965 Buick Skylark instead of the 300 I actually have. I really love it when somebody says they have a 12 second car because a similar car ran 12 seconds, even though they've never even gone down the 1320. That's the best.

I loved watching one of the car shows on tv this weekend, they had a camaro of some sort, good motor, they spent couple hundred on headers, and a superchips programmer, spending close to a grand with a few other goodies. well they spun the drum and were happy to get almost 40 hp over stock sorry, but I think that is just tooooo funny, the options we have make so much more power its rediculous

No, 300 HP is what the "stock" engine was rated for in the NSX. Of course, I think that was at 6800 RPM, so...

Other 3.2 liters are rated at 240-ish HP, though, and those are the ones it's probably possible to get a hold of. And 240 HP in a 2600 pound car is good, but not quite 13's...

Bottom line is the guy spent a lot of money on a motor swap that gave him around 50 HP along with more weight. I googled last time I posted and found civics with H22's claiming high 13's so his claim *might* be plausible, but I'd still ask to see a timeslip

My bro has an acura 3.2 TL and he uses the same oil filter as the NSX, but that car might run 16's or so. Its a nice little luxury sedan, but its not built for speed.

Well, now he says that it is, infact, a 2.2 liter. And he backed down on his claim from "300" to "high 200's". He also said that he had a limited slip differential [sic], and that the "Jap-speced engine includes a fully cryo-treated bottom end". And, of course the "cryo-treated bottom end" on top of the "really thick H-23 block" made his car a "torque monster". (He admitted that "torque monster" implied 200 foot pounds at 5500 RPM... )

Anyways, it got better with his kill story... He says he beat a 2004 Corvette, from the line on a freeway on-ramp, uphill, after the Corvette got the jump on him... Just kind of sounded like a Big Blue kill story to me... (Actually, what does your 'Vette do off the line, Blue?)

In the end, I respect the heck out of a 2.2 liter engine that can get into the 14's all day long for only 1,000 or so dollars, and can get into solid 13's with NOS and 12's with a turbocharger, and even faster. But I think I'm going to have to put some money on the line for some time slips and/ or video evidence...

i am not a ricer, i am into imports as well as domestics and can help you guys here....if his 92 integra does have an h22, N/A it has around 200hp at the wheels...i have a 93 civic hb with a B16, 1.6L vtec with crower cams, head work, everything done to this, i have a kazz lsd (doesn't add hp haha) but it sure does help traction and if i had a good engine management i could bump the revs up from current 8200 to about 9k or so and be real close to 200whp, right now its around 170....thats good for high 13's im the 2440lb w/me hatch all motor and a seriously fun daily driver also good for high 20's in the mpg
heres some info for you guys, whether you like imports or not is not the focus

That last link is what I'd call "beyond impressive". There's definitely some sleepers out there in the ricer world.

So I guess the evidence is that it is possible? It's very close, at any rate. 200 HP comes out to quite a bunch in 2500 lbs, doesn't it?

Amazing what those little 4's are capable of.

Back in 2000 when I was in the Marine Corps I bought a 1990 Nissan 240sx to go drifting with my friends. They had the old FC RX7's and a couple old Supra's and Starions. Anyways I had friends that were stationed in Oki that got me a hookup on parts so I started having parts sent over when I had the cash. Mostly suspension stuff in the beginning. Then one evening someone called the cops and we had to book it outta there since all of us were on active duty and getting hauled into the pokey would have been real bad mojo! Well I ended up blowing a hole in one of the pistons and needed an engine. I got one shipped over along with the tranny and rear end and then installed it sometime later. It was alot more peppy but not enough. I then went on a spree buying parts that were scattered around the garage until I had time to put them all on at once. I took it to the drag strip twice and had fun spanking the domestics and ricers all night. I took a sawzall to the interior and cut out the insides of the doors and stripped the interior of everything to include the rubber sound deadening on the floorboards. I got a bolt in cage to mount my 5 points and installed one seat. I ran stand alone engine management from a company in Atlanta. I was putting down 372 hp at 19psi of boost. That was no nitrous, but it was an SR20DET which is a 2 liter single turbo nissan 4 cylinder. There was nothing stock left on the engine except for the bottom end. The clutch was from ACT and the tranny was stock. The rear diff had a limited slip in it. I have a link to a website where I posted up some pics of the car before I painted it the third time. It got the flat black rattle can paint behind the local wal mart one evening after I did something stupid and needed to go home incognitio. Im expecting the ricer comments, and the flames from doing stupid stuff but before you do that..... I sold the car to a friend and now live a quiet life driving my 3500 as a respectable service technician in the HVAC industry...ha-ha! Ok so the 3500 is straight piped and is far from quiet, but I dont do the crazy stuff I used to anymore. Anyways enjoy!

So do you think that a "stock, Jap-spec" H-23/22 in a 1992 Acura Integra would be in the 13's? I need expert opinions, mainly somebody that would say "no way in all get out", but I'd accept the "it's possible" variety as well...

And very nice story about having to spray paint your car behind Wal Mart in order to "go home incognito"... Almost as good as melting your engine running from the cops.
