Re:X-Box, PS2 or GameCube

Never tried an Xbox or Gamecube.

Bought a PS2 last year just so I could play Grand Theft Auto III.
Expensive little game considering that's the only reason I got the console, but fun as all getout, well worth it.
(400+ bucks with console, game, memory card, controller #2, etc)

Just got Grand Theft Auto: Vice City day before halloween.
Didn't think a game could surpass GTAIII but it did.
Not a day has gone by when I haven't played it.

What I've heard about the X-Box is better graphics, better sound, but with Microsoft software running it, I'll stay away.

GameCube seems to "nintendo-ish" for my tastes, younger demographic judging by the games for it.

[edit] Since I'm 35, I think I'm just a bit beyond the target demographic for all 3 .

There has been several good reviews of each.

www.hardocp.com is a tech site that does techie hardware reviews, and they have had links to several reviews for all three.
From what I get out of it, PS2 and X-B are suited for different folks.
X-box has more eye candy, but PS2 (at the time I read the reviews) had more choices. (That may not be so true now. I dont know).
Santa Clause is trying to make the same decision for my kids right now.

Rich

Guy at work says PS2 is more geered for the younger crowd/kids -- XBox is for us adults who are still kids! ;D PS2 Does have way more games to choose from right now, but Xbox is supposed to have over 200 by Christmas season... :

X-box, PS2, GameCube? What are they, attachments to the truck? Seriously, my son and grandson vote for PS2, as in totally cool. I personally will never submit to the humilation of losing to a 10 year old kid. Ruins the stately image of a GrandPa, sides I'm a sore loser

Now pong, that was a game. Nowadays, computer solitare is about my speed.

~Dave

Gamecube of course!! Nintendo all the way. I still have the 8 bit NES complete with several games. Still works just fine. Also have the SNES, 64, and now the gamecube. If you havent tried the wavebird wireless, give it a shot. That thing is great. ;D
Oh and if you like the Resident Evil series, they are now an exclusive to Nintendo

Re:X-Box, PS2 or GameCube

I have a PS2 that I bought to also use as a DVD player in the bedroom. I only have about 8 games for it. I spend most of the time playing Madden 2002 football, going to buy 2003 here soon. I have Grand Theft Auto 3 as well as Gran Turismo 3 ...... but I keep turning back to Madden.

I haven't played the X-Box or Gamecube so I can't compare them. I am happy with the PS2.

Re:X-Box, PS2 or GameCube

I know alot of people put the system of their choice in their trucks. I have thought about doing it. Where is the best place to put a screen and best place to mount to input jacks that go to it?

Re:X-Box, PS2 or GameCube

PS2, It has the best driving/racing games on the market. I also have a Game Cube it's ok, PS1, N64 and a Dream Cast(getto). I'd like to get an X Box but I can't stop playing GT3 And GTA3.

Absolutely for the passengers so they will be distracted and not see words that rice driver says in dissappointment after getting toasted by a truck that ways three times as much. And to cut down on the "are we there yet?" >

Re:X-Box, PS2 or GameCube

I own a PS2 My dunny owns a X box and we both agree that they both have good qualities but the PS2 is a superior system! The X Box seems to have a little better graphics but the games dont see as good for it PS2 has way more games and the controllers are better suited for hands i think IMO PS2 all the way only played a gamecube a few times and hated it!!
